What to Expect
Other than an experience of a lifetime, you’ll see some of the most picturesque cityscapes Brisbane has to offer. Your guided ride traces the meandering Brisbane River from Breakfast Creek to South Bank and back, blending skyline views, heritage landmarks, and calm river reaches perfect for jet skiing. While on tour, keep an eye out for local wildlife such as cormorants, pelicans, rays, and—on lucky days—dolphins moving with the tide.
Your Voyage
Your Brisbane River adventure begins at Breakfast Creek (Newstead) with check-in and a practical safety and controls briefing. After a short familiarisation, you’ll head downstream, taking in:
Brisbane Powerhouse – A striking riverside arts venue, originally an industrial powerhouse; great photo op with New Farm Park adjacent.
Story Bridge – Glide beneath the city’s iconic steel cantilever bridge; throttle back for a moment to enjoy the view.
The Pink Mansion – A head-turning riverside residence that always gets a second look.
The Star Casino – Skim past the city reach with views of Brisbane’s entertainment precinct (river conditions permitting).
Queensland Maritime Museum – A nod to Australia’s maritime heritage along the South Brisbane reach.
Wheel of Brisbane (Turnaround Point) – Circle at South Bank’s riverside hub with sweeping skyline vistas before beginning the return run upstream.
The route offers a unique, ever-changing perspective of Brisbane—leafy parklands, heritage facades, and modern architecture—before returning to Breakfast Creek with a grin you can’t shake.
Cultural & Historical Notes
The Brisbane River—known traditionally as Maiwar—has been a life source for local First Nations peoples for thousands of years. Today, it frames Brisbane’s identity: the Powerhouse reborn from industry to arts, the Story Bridge symbolising connection and resilience, and South Bank transformed after Expo ’88 into the city’s gathering place.
Flexible Pace & Photo Stops
Our tours cater to your preferences. If you’d like a leisurely cruise with multiple photo pauses, your guide will build them in at safe vantage points. If you prefer a more spirited ride (within conditions and group ability), we’ll set a tempo that matches the experience level of participants.
